The three do not do the same job. Slack and Microsoft Teams are communication tools built for team messaging and meetings; Slack connects to more than 2,600 apps, Microsoft lists more than 250 integrated business apps for Teams, and Teams handles large video meetings. Collobr is a business management platform: team chat sits next to CRM, quotes, projects and the calendar, and CollobrMail provides business email on your own domain. If your team connects many different tools to chat or works mainly in meetings, Slack or Teams may be the better fit. If most of your conversations revolve around customers, quotes and task tracking, an all-in-one platform can cover that work with fewer subscriptions.
First, how this comparison works
The Slack and Microsoft details below come from their official US pages as of 29.09.2026; the sources are listed at the end. Prices are in US dollars, as shown on those pages. Neither the Slack nor the Microsoft US pricing page says whether sales tax is included, so check the total at checkout. If you buy from the UK or another country, your local page may show a different currency: according to Slack's Help Center, Slack bills in British pounds, euros, Indian rupees, Japanese yen and US dollars, and sets the billing currency from your location when the workspace is created.
One distinction matters: CollobrMail is an email service and Slack is a chat tool, so comparing the two directly would not be fair. Microsoft is different, because some Microsoft 365 business plans include business email alongside Teams. That is why chat, meetings and email appear on separate rows below.

Cost: what you pay per user
All three charge per user, so the bill grows with the team. The prices on the official pages as of 29.09.2026:
- Slack (slack.com/pricing): Free USD 0. Pro USD 8.75 per user per month billed monthly, or USD 7.25 billed annually. Business+ USD 18 or USD 15. Enterprise+ USD 45 per user per month billed annually, through the sales team. The page also advertises 50% off for 3 months on monthly Pro and Business+ plans bought online within 7 days of creating the team; the offer does not apply to annual plans.
- Microsoft Teams (US page): Microsoft Teams Essentials USD 4.00 per user per month; Microsoft 365 Business Basic USD 7.00; Microsoft 365 Business Standard with Copilot USD 23.50. All are paid yearly as an annual subscription that renews automatically, and the business plans are for 1 to 300 employees.
- Collobr (collobr.com/en/pricing): Free USD 0 for up to 2 users. Basic USD 9 and Professional USD 19 per user per month billed annually (USD 11 and USD 25 billed monthly). Enterprise on custom quote. Prices are in US dollars and exclude VAT, and your card is charged in US dollars; your bank may add a foreign transaction fee. Add-on modules are priced per company and do not grow with the number of users. The 14-day free trial covers the full Professional plan, and no credit card is required. Support is available in English, German, French and Turkish on weekdays from 09:00 to 18:00 Turkey time (UTC+3).
A simple calculation: for a 10-person team, Slack Pro billed annually comes to USD 72.50 per month, Teams Essentials to USD 40 and Microsoft 365 Business Basic to USD 70. For the same 10 people, Collobr Basic billed annually comes to USD 90 per month and Professional to USD 190 (excluding VAT). These figures are list prices multiplied, nothing more; when you compare, look at what each package includes. Slack Pro includes no email or CRM, Teams Essentials includes no business email, and Collobr has no large-scale meeting infrastructure like Teams.
Limits of the free plans
On Slack's free plan, messages are saved and searchable for 90 days, and according to the pricing page, free Slack deletes data after 1 year. You can connect up to 10 apps, and huddles are one-to-one.
In the free version of Teams, group calls and meetings are limited to 60 minutes, meetings to 100 participants and storage to 5 GB per user. Microsoft states that small businesses may use the free version, but points to a business-class solution for more robust options.
Collobr's Free plan is limited to 2 users; the pricing page lists CRM, sales pipeline, tasks and calendar, 10 quotes per month, customer approval via link and 1 GB of storage. Larger teams need the Basic or Professional plan.
Integrations: an ecosystem or a single platform?
Slack's strength is its ecosystem. The pricing page lists more than 2,600 apps in the Slack App Directory, and app integrations are unlimited on paid plans. From the Pro plan up, you can also work with outside partners in direct messages, group chats or dedicated channels with up to 250 organizations. If your team uses separate tools for projects, support, code and sales and wants all their notifications in one place, that is a real advantage.
Teams' strength is Microsoft 365. For a team that already works in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, files, calendar and meetings come together in one account. Microsoft's comparison page counts more than 250 integrated business apps for Teams.
Collobr takes a different approach: fewer separate tools to connect. CRM, quotes, inventory, finance, HR, projects, calendar, team chat and email live on the same platform. External connections focus on day-to-day business needs: you can connect your existing email account via IMAP/SMTP and have replies matched to the right customer, and WhatsApp messages land in the same inbox. For card payments, payment links work with Turkish virtual POS providers such as iyzico, PayTR, SiPay, Garanti, Akbank and Ziraat, so check whether this suits how you take payments. If you are looking for a broad app marketplace, Collobr does not meet that need.
Privacy and data location
Where data is stored is a preference for some businesses and a contractual or legal requirement for others. Check your own obligations with your legal or data protection adviser; the points below only repeat what each provider states in its own documentation.
- Slack: According to the Help Center, data is stored in the US if data residency is not used. Data residency requires the Business+ plan or higher and is set up through Slack's sales team. The available regions are Frankfurt, Paris, Stockholm, Zurich, Tokyo, Mumbai, Singapore, Seoul, Sydney, London, Montreal and São Paulo. Even with data residency, some data types, such as member profiles and workspace and channel membership information, may be stored outside the chosen region.
- Microsoft: According to the Microsoft 365 documentation, the country or region given when the tenant is created determines the default geography of the services. For Teams, Microsoft's data residency commitments in its Product Terms apply to tenants whose sign-up country is in the US, the EU or a Local Region Geography; that list has 27 entries and includes the United Kingdom. Administrators can see where data is stored in the admin center under Settings > Org settings > Organization profile > Data location.
- Collobr: Turkey today; an EU hosting option is in preparation. With role- and department-based permissions, each employee sees only their own data. If your contracts or internal policies require data to be stored in a specific country, take this into account before you choose.
Decision guide
Slack may be a better fit if
- your team uses many different SaaS tools and wants to connect them to chat,
- you work in shared channels with suppliers, agencies or customers,
- you already have a separate CRM and email service that work well.
Microsoft Teams may be a better fit if
- your company works in Word, Excel and Outlook and you have, or are considering, a Microsoft 365 subscription,
- long video meetings with many participants are a major part of your working day,
- you want email, file storage and meetings from a single office suite.
An all-in-one platform may be a better fit if
- most internal conversations are about customers, quotes, orders and tasks,
- you do not want to pay separate per-user subscriptions for CRM, quotes, email and chat,
- you prefer add-on modules priced per company rather than per user.
These options do not rule each other out. Some teams hold meetings in Teams and keep customer tracking, quotes and team messaging on a business platform. What matters is that there is one clear place to look for any piece of information.
Checklist before you decide
- List the tools you pay for per user today.
- Note whether meetings, messaging or customer work dominates your team's week.
- Decide whether data location is a criterion for you and, if so, which countries are acceptable.
- Recheck prices on the official pages on the day you buy, including the currency and whether tax is included.
- Use the free plan or trial with real work for at least a week.
If you would like to try team chat, CollobrMail and your customer work in one place, try Collobr free for 14 days; no credit card required. Plans and prices are on our pricing page.
